Joining another swap

I'm obsessed with swaps these days.  I've joined an Easter tag swap over at Sandy's at 521lakestreet.  Still time to sign up.

Fabric Swap

Here is the 5x7 fabric collage that I made for A Swap for All Seasons for my partner Heidi.  My camera is acting up, so I had to scan it.  The little design on the left is a heart with a thimble, needle, and thread card embroidered on it. A fun project; can't wait to make some more.

Another image from older swap

I did this "quiltie" (a 5x5 inch quilt patch) for a swap about 2 years ago. I'm not sure about the theme, but I certainly enjoyed using bright colors.

Banner for Previous Swap

This is a banner I made for a swap a couple years ago.  Now I hope to join a new swap at aswapforallseasons.  I love combining fabric, paper and embellishments.
I hope to pick up where I left off last September and add to this blog on a regular basis. I had a great holiday season until a bug had me down for a week.  Now I am attempting to put away Christmas crafts (many unfinished projects), clean the craft room, and start fresh.  I want to learn to use my Silhouette, make a few birthday cards, and start Valentines early.
My word for the year is "COMPLETE."  I want to complete what I have started and work on a complete  mind-body improvement.  Two different meanings for the same word - one meaning finish, the other meaning
total - but I will try to work on both.  For now, I will complete and post this message.  Happy 2011!

Fall cards for grandgirls

Fall is in the air here on the Cape.  The breeze was coming off the bay today. I decided to make a few fall cards for the girls.  The girls love to get mail.  I used stamps and papers from  Amuse Artstamps and Hero Arts Stamps. I am definitely a stamp-aholic and collector of patterned  papers, ribbon, and embellishments.  I love to try different styles from simple (like these) to vintage, shabby, or glittery. What is your style?

A perfect 10

Today is an absolutely beautiful day here on Cape Cod --warm, sunny, no humidity, no clouds.  I'd be more than happy to have many more of these days as we head into fall.  Today is also the official first real blog and an introduction.  I'm a 60 something wife to my husband of 42 years.  He is a retired professor who loves his classic cars and his time at the gym.  I'm a mom to my two adult children.  I'm a grandmother (Mimi) to my three beautiful grandgirls (see picture in right column.)  I spend my time crafting and gardening.  I've been crafting for as long as I can remember with cardmaking and paper crafts as my current passions.  I acquired my love of gardening from my grandparents; herbs and flowers are my favorites.
I want to thank my friend Joyce,  Scrap for Joy, for encouraging me to start this blog. I recently sent her a small gift that I had made using Julie Ebersole's, Paper Trufflez, template for a stationary box. I hope to post more pictures soon. I think this is going to be fun. Hope you will enjoy a peek into my life.
